On April 22, 2024, the ninth graders with some of the teachers, visited Maomawan, Babag, a mountain barangay of the city to immerse themselves in the joys and challenges faced by the farmers.
This interdisciplinary outreach activity helped them deepen their awareness of the significance and role of the agricultural sector in the society, particularly the contribution of the farmers to food security. It gave them the joy to prepare for the farmers simple appreciation bags filled with canned goods, rice, and hygiene products budgeted from a portion of their raised funds during their 2nd Grading entrepreneurship activity in Economics.
The eureka from the first-hand, experience, albeit for a short time, the joys of raising chickens and farm animals, the taste and gratitude for the bounty and fruits of the earth, the dream to harvest products in quantity and quality, and the aching hope for rains to quench the thirst of the parched lands and plants.
May the simple offer of clean water by one of their batchmates be the seed for their desire to do something concrete for their neighbors in need, the farmers. May God bless the bread and fish so it may be multiplied many times over.
They are thankful for all those who have made this activity possible, especially the organizers. This field trip has not only been fun and an opportunity to bond and know more about their classmates and batch, but it has also afforded them the time to reflect, be enlightened, and be inspired. Kudos to all!
To God be the glory.
